Why we built this

You care. You just don’t know where to start.

Maybe you watched an immigrant’s story online and felt moved, then closed the app and wondered what you could actually do. Most people who want to help never get the tools to do it.

Immigration law is one of the most complicated areas of law in the country. It’s hard to know what’s true, what’s changing, and what would really make a difference.

You don’t need to be a lawyer or a policy expert. We’ll help you understand what’s happening, take realistic steps that actually help, and speak up with immigrants, not for them.

Immigration is federal. Our response should be too.

“My frustrations inspired me to find spaces where people aren’t afraid to reshape how we discuss immigration and work toward building a new way of doing things.”

Organizer Pathway participant

“I especially want to learn how to advocate for immigrants because I feel like we’re becoming apathetic.”

Walking Alongside

For five weeks this holiday season, we’re reading Tell Me How It Ends by Valeria Luiselli together. Luiselli volunteered as an interpreter for children who crossed the border alone, helping them answer the forty questions they’re asked in immigration court. Through their answers, you see what these children left behind, what the journey was like, and what they face once they arrive.

Over these five weeks, we’ll walk through the book together. Read along in print or on audiobook, then join our weekly discussions and live sessions to go deeper: hearing stories from immigrants, learning from an immigration lawyer, and figuring out the action steps each of us can take toward a more just immigration system.

“Our stories. Our fight. Our future.”

Immigrants are the experts on their own lives, so they lead the way here. Allies bring their voices, time and influence to stand with them. Together, we push for an immigration system that treats every person with dignity.
